Self-Limiting Beliefs

  • "I can't work with her"
  • "He'll never listen to me"
  • "I can't speak in front of a group"
  • "I'm no good at marketing"

How many times have you set yourself up for failure by convincing yourself that you can't do something? Our minds are powerful and can be our greatest asset or our greatest liability.

When we listen to the voice in our head that says:

  • "I can't..."
  • "I'm no good at..." or
  • "I'll never be able to..."

….we are setting ourselves up for failure.

Tip:Be aware of your own self-limiting beliefs. Try to stop negative thought patterns. (Dr. Weil's relaxation technique might help: see Suppress Your Stress). Once you silence negative thoughts, shift your focus to positive outcomes. You're bound to get better results when you do away with Self-limiting Beliefs.
